What is cold pressurisation or HPP?
Cold pressurisation is the application of cold-water pressure greater than the deepest point in the ocean. We apply this process to our smoothies to ensure high quality, clean, nutritious, safe-to-eat products with an extended shelf life without using heat, or chemical preservatives.
How does it extend the shelf life?
The extreme water pressure kills off the nasties such as bacteria, virus, yeasts, moulds and parasites that can find their way into fresh produce. By getting rid of them, our plant-based, all natural drinks are able to stay fresher longer.
Can they be frozen?
Our smoothies can be frozen for up to 3 months. To defrost, just place in the fridge over night.
What’s the difference between a green juice and a green smoothie?
Green smoothies are made up of leafy greens, vegetables, and fruits that are blended together. The benefit of this is that you have a drink that contains all the fibre of the fruit and veg. Fibre is great for weight loss, helps to control blood sugar levels, and keeps your digestive system healthy. A juice on the other hand, contains only the juice of the fruit and veg meaning most of the fibre is stripped away. Both juices and smoothies have their place in a healthy diet, but we prefer smoothies for their heartiness and extra nourishment.
Are green smoothies suitable for all seasons?
Greens smoothies can be consumed all year round. Our one recommendation is not to drink them icey cold in winter.
Are they gluten free?
Our smoothies contain no gluten, only fresh plant-based foods.
Are they dairy free?
Our smoothies contain no dairy as we believe 100% in the power of plant-based wholefoods.
What is the separation I see in the bottle?
From time to time, you may see the smoothie has started to separate slightly. This is due to the different densities of each ingredient. Simply give it a good shake to ensure the ingredients mix together again.
What is a superfood?
Superfoods are seriously nutrient dense food, each with their own unique health benefits. More information to come on each of the superfoods we use.
Are they nut free?
We produce a range of smoothies, some with nuts and some without. That said, they are all produced in the same kitchen space so may contain traces of nuts. This is specified on our labels.
